Avocado Toast 3 Ways

I absolutely love avocados, whether that be in smoothie form (have you guys tried avocado shakes with boba? They are so yummy.), guacamole, tacos, or just good ole avocados.

Avocado toast is pretty much everywhere now, and according to a few articles I read, apparently the reason why millennial can’t buy houses. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen people posting photos of these aesthetic toasts on social networking sites.

Whenever I have avocados on hand, avocado toast is the first thing that pops into my mind.

This simple, yet healthy recipe is delicious and makes for a filling breakfast.

I love using sprouted grain bread because it adds more protein to the dish and has a nuttier taste to it.

The options for what to add to your toast is pretty much endless and you can let your imagination run wild. The basic  ingredients consist of avocados, bread, lime juice, as well as salt and pepper for taste.

  1. Classic Avocado Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of sprouted grain bread
  • 1 oz. avocado
  • 1/2 tsp. lime juice
  • Salt and pepper

Materials:

  • Toaster
  • Bowls
  • Forks

Instructions:

  1. Start off by toasting your bread to your desired toasty-ness
  2. In a separate bowl, mash up your avocado. Add your lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Set aside
  3. Taking your avocado mixture, spread it onto your bread.
  4. Add some pepper and sriracha/ hot sauce and enjoy!

2.Avocado Egg Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of sprouted grain bread
  • 1 oz. avocado
  • 1/2 tsp. lime juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cooking oil

Materials:

  • Toaster
  • Bowls
  • Forks
  • Frying Pan

Instructions:

  1. Start off by toasting your bread to your desired toasty-ness
  2. In a separate bowl, mash up your avocado. Add your lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Set aside
  3. Taking your avocado mixture, spread it onto your bread.
  4. Add some pepper and sriracha/ hot sauce and enjoy! I decided to eat my toast along with some tea and strawberries

 

3.Salmon Avocado Egg Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of sprouted grain bread
  • 1 oz. avocado
  • 1/2 tsp. lime juice
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1- 2.5 oz of salmon ( I used bagged, but I think smoked salmon works better)

Materials:

  • Toaster
  • Bowls
  • Forks

Instructions:

  1. Start off by toasting your bread to your desired toasty-ness
  2. In a separate bowl, mash up your avocado. Add your lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Set aside
  3. Taking your avocado mixture, spread it onto your bread.
  4. Add some pepper and sriracha/ hot sauce and enjoy!

 

Other toast variations:

– Add  sundried tomato

-Drizzle of olive oil

-Using hummus instead of avocado

-Strawberries and balsamic with black pepper

-Adding salsa/pico de gallo

-Jam (bacon jam I hear works well)

*Be careful of eating raw eggs as they can potentially cause you to get sick.
